Join Betsy Davis of Bhakti Barn, and Niika Quistgard of MayaShakti Ayurveda –and the beautiful people of Rasa Ayurveda Traditional Healing Centre for Women – for this 1st of it’s kind experience of Goddess-inspired yoga, Ayurveda and the living South Indian tradition of the Devi (Devi means Goddess!).
Come alive on this great Ayurveda and yoga-filled journey to Kerala in Southern India, as we dive deep into an exploration of spirit. Our intimate group of women will explore the female power – Shakti – of creativity and creation, and immerse ourselves in the cleansing and nourishment of the waters of life – the Rasas – in our physiology, psychology, community and our environmental ecology for 14 unforgettable days and nights.
Highlights of this trip include:
- Celebrate Navaratri, the 9 Nights of the Devi (Goddess) – culminating in Vijayadashami, a special morning dedicated to Devi Saraswati, goddess of music, writing and learning.
- Visiting Devi (Goddess) Temples, learning temple protocol and how to connect with the Divine through traditional forms such as sacred dance, mudras, prayers, floral offerings and sacred song.
- Enjoy being led by Betsy Davis into a very flowing style of vinyasa yoga to evoke the essences of nine primary Devis (Goddesses). Each class will tell a story of a goddess as we connect with Her qualities within, while flowing through our asanas feeling connected to the rasas of Nature’s sustaining waters and of our innate creativity. Classes held out of doors on a covered rooftop above the Karamana River, where we’ll merge with the river and rhythm of our breath.
- Small classes with Niika Quistgard on Ayurveda, and how to practically apply Ayurvedic principles in daily life to balance our five senses, and our mind, for health, happiness and longevity.
- Wonderful, hands-on cooking, simple medicine-making, fresh henna design applications to hands and feet and some creative art play – will invite our inner juices to flow freely!
- Contributing your presence and support toward sustaining living Ayurveda and her native plant medicine by connecting with local Malayalee orphan girls through The Muthashi Project
